Harrison + Annie
The one where the Lord held off the rain. If I had to give this wedding a title, that is what it would be. The week prior to the wedding, the weather forecast was showing rain & 45 degree weather for a wedding that had to be completely outside due to COVID. All week I was praying and I kept telling my husband, "Poor Annie, she must be so stressed!" So I arrived the morning of the wedding fully prepared to be on damage control for the bride & reassuring her that her day was going to be wonderful regardless of what the weather may be, but much to my surprise & relief Annie carried herself with pure bliss, as though the weather would be sunny and 75. The joy and peace of the Lord was so evident in her and Harrison all day which, if you know these two, I'm not sure why I expected anything less.
It was a beautiful wedding with hints of a desert as well as country theme, with love & sentiments sprinkled throughout. The ceremony was lovely and the Lord held off the rain until the end of the reception, when most of the events had already happened. From a photographer's perspective, the day couldn't have gone any more perfect!
Lavender & Sweat Pea were added to their bouquets to honor their late grandmothers.
For any of my future brides, if you're wondering if you should do a first look, the answer is yes! There are so many benefits, but one of the biggest ones is that it gives us two opportunities to capture portraits in case weather doesn't permit after the ceremony. Also, it is such a special intimate moment for your groom to see you for the first time.
The other benefit of doing a first look is that we can do most family & bridal portraits before the wedding, so your guests don't have to wait nearly as long for you to arrive at the reception!
Annie and her dad seriously had the sweetest father-daughter dance ever, and I always get emotional watching these dances thinking about my girls dancing with their dad.
So, a fun detail about their wedding, Harrison created these stuffed animals for Annie when they were dating. It is called a Purddle, so it was only fitting to get a shot of them enjoying the wedding cake also (thanks to a bridesmaid for this awesome idea).
